The tension inside the tempered glass is much higher than in heat-strengthened glass. Therefore, even if there is tension inside the HS glass, the possibility for spontaneous breakage is much lower.
Globally, the annual growth in the flat glass market is about 7%. In Southeast Asia (SEA), however, it is even higher.
Growth can be seen in all segments there, including the automotive, architectural, solar and appliances markets. However, compared with flat glass in SEA, the growth in value-added products, like Low-E or solar control glass, is much higher.
To sum up, there is a lot of potential for the flat glass market in the SEA region, and we see that the growth there happens faster than average when compared with the global situation.
